CALL FOR SCORES
We are seeking works for flute and piano by LGBTQ+ identifying composers to record for a new album by flutist Taylor Irelan and pianist Andrea Feitl. The album aims to be a celebration of contemporary LGBTQ+ artists and culture. There is a lack of openly LGBTQ+ representation in contemporary flute repertoire, and it is our goal to promote these works and composers beyond the album creation.
Prizes:
Approximately four to six winners will receive $500 for each selected composition

Requirements:
Must identify as LGBTQ+ and be comfortable being promoted as LGBTQ+
Work must not have been previously recorded or premiered
Instrumentation: Flute and piano
Minimum length: 5 minutes
Maximum length: 20 minutes
Maximum number of entries: None
Must submit full score and parts along with digital MIDI recording

Works directly inspired by LGBTQ+ issues will be given preference.
Extended techniques are fine if used musically, but not required. No flutter tongue is preferred, though, it is Taylor's Achilles Heel =D
As this is for use in a complete album, we are looking to take listeners on a journey, so we are looking for various styles of works, from lyrical to virtuosic

On or before July 1st, 2021
We will select approximately four to six winners, depending on length of pieces selected, to record professionally for the album.
The album will be recorded in 2021, with plans to release late 2021.
Winners will receive $500 for each composition selected, as well as digital copies of the professional recordings. Recordings can be used for press kits and promoting only. Taylor and Andrea will have exclusive performance and recording rights for three years.
